MySQL Database: How do I change the mySQL password?
To change the password of a database user, simply:

1. Select the 'MySQL' option in your Control Panel (CP) to access the Database Manager.

2. Select the database you want to work with.

3. Select the user you want to edit, and then click the 'Reset Password' option.

Database Administrator
To ensure you can always access your database(s), the administrator login for your MySQL database(s) is the same as your CP login, and cannot be changed using the Database Manager.

If you want to change the administrator password, you need to use the 'Change Password' option in your CP and ensure that the option to change database password is also selected.

If you change the CP password but do not syncronise the database administrator password, every time you go into MySQL from the CP, you will be prompted for the current database administrator password.

Note: If you change your administrator password, any scripts that use the administrator login will also need to be updated otherwise they will stop working (login error).
