General Info: How come I can get 2Gb/50Gb for $5 at ...
|
The commodity web hosting market is currently in the grip of a price war, and many commodity web hosts are falling over themselves with fantasic sounding headline plans to attract customers.
You get what you pay for
The problem is that in order to make these plans pay, they have to sell the same resources to many clients (also known as overselling), oversubscribe their network resources, use restrictive policies to stop customers from actually using the amounts purchased, or switch to inferior quality service providers. Or all of the above.
In the current climate, the packages offered by many hosts are not just unbelievable, but a downright con. Many hosts are currently overselling by 10 times or more.
Can you imagine paying for a 4 course meal, then later finding out that you can only actually have a bread roll because there isn't enough food to go round?
Do the Math!
It isn't hard to spot a web host heavily overselling their resources or using inferior quality products - when you consider that a top end web server comes with around 50Gb of usable disk space it doesn't take a genius to realise that the web host selling packages with 2000Mb (2Gb) of disk space for $5 is going to have to place far more than 25 clients on the server to make it pay... and lets not even mention the costs of servicing a 50Gb transfer allowance on a $5 account...
Bearing the brunt
Many unsuccessful resellers wonder why they failed. The simple reason in many cases is that they have been let down by their web host. They lose customers from oversubscribed and poorly performing web services, web hosts who 'dump' the resellers best clients when they actually try to use the resources allocated to them, and web hosts who go offline for days on end with no explanation.
All this adds up to frustration for your end clients and lost business and reputation for you, the reseller.
A different approach
At wrchosting, we believe that if you are paying for something, you should be able to use it. Our plans and pricing are based on common sense value to ensure that our resellers get the best deal and a service they can rely on.
And we don't penalise you or your clients for using the package resources you ordered. After all, you are paying for them.
We also only use quality service providers who can prove "clean audit" - that is, independent verification that their business model is self sustaining. We never risk your business by using suppliers who risk their own businesses.
